Gary Somma - Principal
Gary Somma is an accomplished business consultant who has worked with companies for more than two decades, helping them to resolve organizational issues and break down management barriers to achieve outstanding results. From the beginning, Gary's professional mission has been to help his clients become more effective in what they do. Through in-depth analysis and a customized approach to each organizational challenge, he sets himself apart by bringing a unique perspective to every assignment. This has been true for satisfied clients in a broad range of industries and sectors, including manufacturing, financial services, information technology, nonprofits and the government and military.

Gary has gained his solid knowledge of the business world through education and experience. He received his MBA from the Wharton School and a Master's in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his real-world perspective during 10 years in industry in manufacturing and project management. In 1980, he launched his first company as Corporate Training. More recently, he has refocused his consulting practice to serve the evolving demands of organizations facing a new business climate -- increased global competition, a more diverse workforce, and rapid change created by new technology. His current company, Management Perspectives, was established in 1995 to offer clients customized analysis and solutions in a broad range of critical issues that require more effective approaches and tailored solutions from management and organization leaders.

Once clients begin working with Management Perspectives, they become partners in the development and delivery of solutions. Before any specific approach or methodology is recommended, Gary and his associates apply the unique perspective of Management Perspectives to gain a thorough understanding of the challenge ahead. The purpose is to identify what is truly required before moving forward prematurely with a short-term fix or band-aid solution that may not fill the bill.

An important element for success is the selection of the right combination of tools from these primary disciplines that have proven instrumental in achieving organizational goals:

  • project management
  • organizational development
  • management development & training

Specific tools might include leadership development, conflict resolution, team building, and the design and delivery of targeted training. Or a different solution may be called for, such as the design and implementation of a project management infrastructure that takes into account organizational culture and the potential need for human resource and organizational restructuring. The outcome for the client is a project management solution that leads to predictable and repeatable results.

Ultimately, by working with Management Perspectives, a client gains not only new tools and skills, but a new perspective of its own for achieving success in meeting future goals.
